The Daughters of Zelophehad

"What Zelophehad's daughters are saying is right. You must certainly give them property as an inheritance among their father's relatives and turn their inheritance over to them" (Numbers 27: 1- 7).

The Daughters of Zelophehad is a ministry that seeks to empower women to embrace the abundant life that Jesus promised them. Our focus is on developing women to walk in their God-given inheritance so that they will actively participate in transforming their communities.

Mission:

The Daughters of Zelophehad is a ministry that develops women worldwide to become leaders in their areas of influence.

Vision:

  • Education - To teach women to become solid disciples of Jesus Christ as they discover their identity in Christ
  • Empowerment - To train women on leadership skills needed in their families, churches, and communities.
  • Economic Equality - To train women with marketable skills for sustainable development.

 Procedures:

  • Conferences: Host conferences where women are trained in Biblical principles
  • Small group Bible studies: Women host and facilitate small groups in their communities
  • Workshops: Women learn and apply principles in a structured environment that combines lecture with real world simulated circumstances
  • Continuous Mentorship Programs: First generation participants are paired with US women through letters, etc to be mentored during first year following conference attendance. First generation participants then become mentors to second generation participants and so forth.
  • Small Business Loans: Provide startup business funds to selected participants to start their own business.
  • Literacy Centers: Establish Literacy Centers in local communities that will teach women basic literacy in English, math and writing.

Update:

In obedience to Jesus command to teach the nations to observe what He commanded us, The Daughters of Zelophehad was launched in Freetown, Sierra Leone in November 2006. The first conference participants were single women who were educated on Intimacy with God, Purpose, Women of Faith, Women of Godly Character, Identity in Christ, Single and Satisfied, Purity, Courtship, Prayer, Evangelism, and Discipleship. The conference concluded with a covenant ceremony where the single women made public vows to remain pure before God. To engage them in practicing what they had learned, they were provided with the opportunity to lead small groups. They were equipped with a leaders booklet, which included small group discussion questions and scripture reading assignments for the duration of 11 months.
